Every time Jake sees a Chuck E. Cheese commercial, he asks me --"I go there one day, Mommy?" To a 2 year old, the commercials make Chuck E. Cheese out to be this totally awesome place "where a kid can be a kid" with tons of rides and games. Knowing what Chuck E. Cheese is really like, I kept telling him that we would go when he got bigger. One day before Christmas, Jake again asked me when he could go to Chuck E. Cheese's so I quickly replied "maybe we'll see if Aunt To-To, Collin and Chloe want to go after Christmas." I thought maybe he would forget all about it--well, was I wrong. Jacob's mind is like a steel trap--that boy doesn't forget anything. At Christmas he was telling everyone that we were going to Chuck E. Cheese's "after Christmas." So, after consulting with my sister and hearing happy screams for Chuck E. Cheese from my niece and nephew, we decided to head to the Cheese on New Year's Eve day. You know what, it wasn't that bad after all. It wasn't that crowded and Jake went crazy with all the games, especially the bowling game. He pretty much hogged the bowling game from all the other kids the entire day. Although he was exhausted at the end of the day, he couldn't stop talking about Chuck E. Cheese--actually, he is still talking about it!! He said he can't wait to take Daddy there so he can watch him bowl--maybe Mommy will sit that one out!!
Jake at his bowling game--look at that concentration (although it looks like he might have rolled a gutter ball). He and the other kid in the picture stood at that game all day long taking turns.
Chuck E. Cheese himself came out to hand out tickets--Jake just ran right up to him and gave him a hug. We got some major tickets for that one!!
