(After Much Delay) Our Fun Weekend

Okay, so it's only taken me about 2 weeks to post some pics from two weekends ago but there's a very good explanation. In short, I was sick all last week and Josh was in Chicago the whole week. As you can understand, that didn't leave me a lot of time for blogging. So allow me to catch up.

On Friday (Feb. 20th), we were invited to Julia Harriss' 2nd birthday party. There were lots of Jake's friends there so he had a great time playing pin the tale on the donkey and eating cupcakes. Andrew also had fun hanging with his buddy, Lucas Rudd, who is only 3 weeks younger and who lives down the street from us. In a few years, those two will be all over our subdivision!

On Saturday, while Josh was helping Uncle Ryan, Aunt Christy and Cole move into their new house (yeah for them), the boys and I travelled to Momo and Papa's house to go swimming at their gym and have dinner with the entire gang. Their gym has an awesome indoor pool area complete with a really nice play area for the kids. The water was a warm 86 degrees so it was a great way to escape the winter weather for at least a few hours. Jake was able to play in the pool with Momo, Papa, Collin and Chloe but wasn't too hip about going down the slide just yet. I wasn't going to put Andrew in because it was really cold that day and I didn't want to risk him getting sick or anything. He was so excited watching Jake, Collin and Chloe play that I decided to just throw a swim diaper on him and let him play. He had an absolute blast!! He was crawling all over the shallow end (before you call DCFS it is a zero entry pool so he wasn't in any danger) and going after the water that was pouring down. Andrew is definitely going to be my risk taker while big brother Jake will be my cautious one.

Then on Sunday we were able to have lunch with Nana Debbie and Papa Dennis who were in town from Branson. It was an extra special lunch because Josh's step-sister, Jennifer, was also in town from Austin with her husband, Jim, and their boys, Auggie and Sam. We haven't seen them in almost 6 years --when Auggie was just a newborn--so it was great seeing them and their boys. We also got to visit with Josh's other step-sister, Allison, her husband, Chuck, and their two girls, Hannah and Hailey. It was a great mini-reunion but we only wished we could have visited with them longer. Hopefully, it won't be another 6 years before we all get together again!!
