This morning Jake, Andrew and I met Mimi and Cole at the Hayner Library in Alton for storytime. Hayner just constructed a new library in the Alton Square Mall and they did a really great job putting it all together. The children's library consists of the entire back section and is full of lots of bright colors, animal decorations, computers and games especially for kids and, of course, thousands of children's books. They also have a room designed especially for kids' activities--meaning no carpeting, kid-sized chairs, video games, dry-erase boards, etc.--where kids can go crazy.
After listening to a woman read a book about trees (which seemed a bit too long for 3 kids under 3), we spent some time coloring flower pictures and playing in the activity room. Jake loves any kind of coloring so he really enjoyed the activity. From there the boys and I joined Mimi and Cole at Steak-n-Shake for some yummy "burgers and fries."
