4th of July Festivities

Even though it rained pretty much the entire time, we were still able to enjoy a fun-filled 4th of July weekend. Nana Debbie and Papa Dennis came in from Branson to visit for the weekend and, as is usually the case when we get together with them, the weekend was full of great food and tons of laughs. Since Josh went a little crazy buying all kinds of fireworks at the fireworks tent this year, we were able to enjoy 2 nights of fireworks (thank you, Josh--you lit every firework and no one got hurt, including you--way to go!). Josh's step-sister, Allison, her husband, Chuck, and two daughters, Hannah and Hailey joined us for dinner on Saturday night (thanks Nana and Papa for preparing most of the delicious food :)) The rain let up just enough for us to grill out and, afterwards, we enjoyed some homemade ice cream--yummy!! Jake had a blast putting on shows for Nana and Papa with Hannah and Hailey and Andrew was exhausted from chasing all the big kids around. Thanks again, Nana and Papa, for celebrating the 4th with us--we had a great visit!!

Andrew and Jake with Nana and Papa--why is it that every kid wants to put their hands in the face when you're trying to take pictures?!

Hailey, Jake, Hannah and Andrew--sorry for the foggy picture, camera lens fogged up as I walked outside to take the pic.

Aren't we patriotic in our red, white and blue?!

Andrew loved the sparklers!!

. . .and so did Jake--Mommy was a little nervous when Daddy handed him the sparkler but Jake did great.
